What Mississippi's law says
Regulator or Attorney General enforcement
The Mississippi Gaming Commission said in June 2025 that there are 'no legal exceptions' for 'so-called sweepstakes casinos' and sent cease-and-desist letters to 10 online operators including Chumba; ban bills passed the Senate in 2025 and 2026 and then died.
- Law or action
MGC public notice and cease-and-desist letters; SB 2510 (2025, died in conference); SB 2104 (2026, died in House committee)
- Date of action
2025-06-17 (MGC letters); 2025-03-31 (SB 2510 died); 2026-03-03 (SB 2104 died)
- Penalties
Dead bills: felony, fine up to $100,000 and/or up to 10 years, forfeiture. MGC notice warns players "could be subject to criminal prosecution and forfeiture".
