How to try sweepstakes casinos: a first-timer's playbook
A sweepstakes casino sign-up bonus is free Gold Coins plus a small number of Sweeps Coins with no purchase necessary. Those SC still need playthrough, a minimum redemption, and a verified ID before any prize, and no prize is promised.

Start with the free sign-up Sweeps Coins before buying anything
Use the free sign-up Sweeps Coins before you buy anything. Sweeps Coins come from offers that require no purchase.
The sign-up offers we checked:
- Crown Coins gives 100,000 Crown Coins plus 2 free Sweeps Coins (SC) at sign-up (help center, checked Nov 3, 2026).
- WOW Vegas gives 250,000 WOW Coins plus 5 SC spread over 3 days (website, checked Sep 21, 2026).
- Zula gives 100,000 Gold Coins (GC) plus 10 SC at sign-up (home page, checked Sep 21, 2026).
Offers change, so check the casino’s own page before you sign up.
With those free coins, test a few things before you buy a Gold Coin package. Play some games and note which ones you actually like. Watch how your balance moves.
Also judge the site’s layout. Can you find your balance, the redemption page, and support without hunting?
Rule 1: verify your ID and address before you buy a Gold Coin package
Most casinos check your ID before your first redemption. Some do it even earlier, before you can claim a daily bonus.
Here’s what 3 casinos ask for:
- Crown Coins wants a US government photo ID plus proof of address dated within the last 3 months. Acceptable proof includes a utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement or mobile phone bill. No PO boxes, no temporary IDs (help center, checked Nov 3, 2026). See Crown Coins redemption rules.
- Cider requires account verification before you can claim the daily bonus or redeem anything (terms, checked Sep 21, 2026).
- Pulsz asks for a photo ID and proof of address dated within the last 3 months at your first redemption request. Verification takes 48 to 72 hours (help center, checked Sep 21, 2026). See Pulsz redemption rules.
Do it on day one. Have clear photos of your ID and a recent address document ready. That way the paperwork is done before you ever need it.
Rule 2: check where your prize can be sent before you buy
Not every casino can send your prize where you want it. Several send prizes back to the payment method you used to buy Gold Coins. If you bought with a card you no longer have, that’s a problem.
Here’s what we checked in the terms:
- Funrize sends prizes to the same payment option as your last purchase, to a bank account, or as Amazon gift cards (checked Sep 21, 2026).
- Cider sends them to the payment method used to purchase, or to a nominated bank account or online wallet (checked Sep 21, 2026).
- Crown Coins uses bank transfer (IBT or ACH) to a supported US bank account. Chime works through IBT. PayPal and Venmo are generally not supported for bank transfers. Skrill and a prepaid virtual card are also options (checked Nov 3, 2026).
- Pulsz sends prizes to Skrill only after a previous Skrill purchase (checked Sep 21, 2026).
Pick a casino whose methods match an account in your own name.
Matching your first casino to how you want to redeem
Gift card minimums are usually lower than the rest of the prize list. That gap matters more than the headline Gold Coin number when your balance is small.
- Spree: 10 SC for a gift card, 100 SC for other prizes
- WOW Vegas: 20 SC for a gift card, 50 SC for other prizes
- RealPrize: $45 for gift cards, checked Sep 21, 2026
- LoneStar: $45 for gift cards and $100 for other prizes, rules, checked Nov 3, 2026
- Crown Coins, WOW Vegas, Zula, SpinQuest, Mega Bonanza: 50 SC for other prizes
- Cider, Lavish Luck, Spree: 100 SC for other prizes
If that matters, compare casinos by lowest minimum before you pick a site. See the WOW Vegas redemption page for its full prize list, or the Spree redemption page for Spree’s.
Now the arithmetic on free coins. Crown Coins gives 2 free SC at sign-up.
Its minimum is 50 SC. That leaves 48 SC to go.
Zula gives 10 free SC against the same 50 SC minimum. That leaves 40 SC to go.
Neither number is a promise of any prize. It just tells you how far free coins are from the door.

What happens after you submit your first redemption request
There are limits on how many requests you can have open. LoneStar and RealPrize allow 1 open request at a time. Cider and Lavish Luck allow 1 request per day.
Here are the processing times each casino states:
- Crown Coins reviews redemptions in 24 to 72 hours, up to 7 days at busy times. After that, bank transfers take 1 to 5 business days and Skrill takes 1 to 3 business days (help center, checked Nov 3, 2026).
- Pulsz verifies your account in 48 to 72 hours, then sends prizes in 1 to 5 business days (checked Sep 21, 2026).
- Cider and Lavish Luck list up to 10 business days in their terms of service. Their sweepstakes rules say up to 30 days in some cases (checked Sep 21, 2026).
- LoneStar gives no standard time. Prizes of $2,500 or more may take longer and can arrive in installments (LoneStar redemption, checked Nov 3, 2026).
These are the casinos’ own statements, not promises. Don’t cancel a pending request out of impatience. If the stated time has passed, contact the casino’s support.
Casinos change the states they accept. Check the casino’s own terms before you sign up.

Common questions
Can you try a sweepstakes casino without buying Gold Coins?
Yes. No purchase is necessary. Crown Coins gives 100,000 Crown Coins plus 2 SC at sign-up. WOW Vegas gives 250,000 WOW Coins plus 5 SC over 3 days. Zula gives 100,000 GC plus 10 SC.
Why should I verify my account before buying a Gold Coin package?
Casinos check your ID and recent proof of address before they send a prize. If you wait, a redemption can get stuck while they ask for documents. Crown Coins rejects PO boxes and temporary IDs. Set it up right the first time.
What is the lowest minimum redemption at a sweepstakes casino?
Among the casinos SweepsClan lists, checked Sep 21 to Nov 3, 2026, gift cards start at 10 SC at Spree and 20 SC at WOW Vegas. Other prizes start at 50 SC at Crown Coins, WOW Vegas, Zula, SpinQuest and Mega Bonanza. LoneStar and RealPrize state $45 for gift cards.
Can I redeem Sweeps Coins to PayPal or Venmo?
Not at every casino. Crown Coins says PayPal, Venmo and other payment apps are generally not supported for bank transfers. Check the casino's listed methods before you buy, so you know where a prize can be sent.
